Boy Scout Troop 55 is a member of the Evangeline Area Boy Scouts Association which is a non-profit organization that helps young boys in the Acadiana area become leaders of our community.  Troop 55 currently has 43 active scouts that are diligently working towards earning their Eagle status in the program.  These scouts have been very active in our community providing community service to a number of organizations.  Most recently, the Troop held a carwash for the benefit of a young cancer patient, provided trash pickup at the Games of Acadiana and the Sertoma Air Show, spruced up the graveyard and mausoleum at Sacred Heart Church in Broussard, and planted shrubs and flowers at the turnaround at Morgan Street and Fairfield and at the Knights of Columbus District Office in Lafayette.

Troop 55 is having its 3^rd Annual Chili Sale this Friday, November 4.  This fundraiser is one of several events we will have to raise money for our scouts to attend summer camp where they will attend classes that will help them in their advancement process towards earning their Eagle Rank.  Next year, Troop 55 will be traveling to Camp Daniel Boone in Canton, North Carolina.  The estimated cost of getting our scouts to and from camp is approximately $10,000.00.  We need your support!  All contributions are tax deductible.  We are in need of grocery donations such as lean ground beef and small bags of Fritos chips.  Any donation you can provide to our cause is greatly appreciated.  All sponsors will be recognized on an insert sheet that will be included with all business deliveries.
